The coastal
village of Platanias can be found 11 kilometres west of
Chania. This beautiful and graphic village has proven to be
a very popular tourist attraction over the years. The
settlement has been built along the coast thus providing a
beautiful view of the sea and a beach right at your feet.
You will find hotels of all categories, a variety of retail
shops, cafeterias, bars and night clubs. The sandy beach of
Platania is one of the most popular beaches of Chania. Close
by above the sea one can also find the fortress of Platanias.
It is said in Greek Mythology, that the goddess Athina
whenever she visited the island, drank water only from the
fortress’ fountain!
It is here that ARCHONTARIKI I can be found. This Cretan
villa consists of two refurbished residences and one newly
built dwelling that have been built from sculptured stones
in an effort to maintain the traditional Cretan
architectural style.
The buildings are surrounded by arbors, banana trees, lemon
trees and variety of wild plants and flowers.
Each building has two floors with an internal staircase. On
the first floor there is a fully equipped kitchen, a small
lounge, fireplace and a toilet and on the 2nd floor there
are two bedrooms and a toilet. All three buildings are
equipped with air conditioning as well as big verandas
providing a panoramic hillside view.
Parking space and a barbeque area are also provided.
